My Weight Loss Journey
In today’s world, it feels like everyone is on a weight loss journey, and for good reason, as carrying excess weight can weigh heavily on our minds, bodies, and emotions. Unfortunately, many individuals turn to drugs or surgery in their quest to lose weight, only to find themselves regaining it later. Research has shown that successful weight loss goes beyond simply dropping pounds; it requires a shift in mindset and lifestyle. Relying on medications or surgical options does little to address the necessary lifestyle changes or emotional healing. After years of struggling to lose weight only to see it return, I discovered that achieving the body I desired involved a deeper understanding of myself. To maintain my ideal weight, I needed to transform my mindset, a journey that, while challenging, is absolutely achievable.
Weight Loss is a Journey
Many people mistakenly believe that weight loss is an overnight solution, but real transformation requires a comprehensive change in lifestyle and perspectives around food. Food often connects to our emotions, leading us to eat out of a need to fill emotional voids. So, even with surgery or medication, if we don’t confront the underlying issues that drive unhealthy habits, the cycle will persist. That’s why I founded Quite the Contour, to tackle the mental, spiritual, and emotional barriers that prevent sustainable healthy living. Once we address the root causes, weight loss becomes less daunting and more about the journey itself. We invite you to join our community of supportive women who uplift one another, fostering accountability and positive reinforcement. Throughout my own weight loss path, I discovered that Wood Therapy and Laser Lipo offered effective and more affordable alternatives to weight loss drugs and surgery.
Wood Therapy
It seems like everyone is trying to lose weight now a days and with good reason because carrying extra weight is like carrying extra luggage around it is not good for the mind, body or the emotions. However, many people rely on drugs or surgery in order to lose weight sometimes to regain the weight all over again. It has been proven that there is more to weight loss than just shedding the pounds it also has to do with mindset and lifestyle. Taking a drug or having surgery will not help with with making a lifestyle shift or emotional healing. After years of trying to lose weight just to have it come back I realized that there is much more to claiming the body that you want. In order to successfully maintain my ideal weight I had to change my mindset. It was not easy but it is possible.
I started with Wood Therapy and laser lipo which is safer that medication and surgery and in many ways more effective.
🌿 What is Wood Therapy?
Wood Therapy, also known as Maderoterapia, is a holistic body contouring technique that uses specially designed wooden tools to sculpt and tone the body. Originating in ancient Eastern and South American practices, it has gained popularity as a powerful, non-invasive method for enhancing natural beauty and promoting wellness.
This unique therapy involves targeted movements using smooth, wooden instruments to apply pressure and stimulate areas of the body prone to fat and fluid retention.
💆♀️ How Wood Therapy Works
During a session, your technician will use a series of handheld wooden tools—each shaped to target specific body zones. These tools help:
Stimulate lymphatic drainage
Improve blood circulation
Break down fat deposits and fibrous cellulite
Promote smoother, more toned skin
Release toxins and reduce bloating
Wood therapy can be used in conjunction with laser lipo to enhance results and improve overall body contouring. Wood therapy helps stimulate the lymphatic system, promotes circulation, and can aid in the breakdown of cellulite and fat, potentially making laser lipo more effective.
Laser Lipo
What is Laser Lipo?
Laser Lipo, also known as laser lipolysis, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure designed to remove excess body fat and contour the body. Unlike traditional liposuction, which uses manual effort and suction to remove fat, Laser Lipo utilizes laser energy to liquefy the fat before it’s gently removed from the body, typically through a small tube called a cannula. Some non-invasive Laser Lipo techniques don’t require suction and rely on the body’s natural lymphatic system to process and eliminate the liquefied fat over time.
The laser energy also offers the added benefit of stimulating collagen production in the treated area. This can lead to skin tightening, resulting in a smoother and more toned appearance compared to traditional liposuction, which can sometimes leave skin looking loose.
The procedure is often performed under local anesthesia, reducing the risks and recovery time associated with general anesthesia.

Who Does It Help? (Ideal Candidates)
Laser Lipo is generally most effective for individuals who are:
Close to their ideal body weight: It’s not a weight-loss solution for obesity but rather a body contouring procedure for stubborn fat pockets. Typically, candidates are within 20-30% of their ideal weight.
Have good skin elasticity: While Laser Lipo can promote some skin tightening, individuals with significantly loose skin might not achieve optimal results without additional procedures.
Struggle with localized fat deposits: These are areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise, such as on the abdomen, flanks (“love handles”), thighs, hips, arms, back, and chin.
Are in good overall health: Healthy individuals without life-threatening illnesses or medical conditions that can impair healing are better candidates.
Are non-smokers (or willing to quit): Smoking can impair healing.
Have realistic expectations: It’s important to understand what Laser Lipo can and cannot achieve.
A consultation with a qualified practitioner is crucial to discuss desired outcomes.
Looking for a minimally invasive option: Compared to traditional liposuction, Laser Lipo typically involves smaller incisions, less trauma to the surrounding tissue, and a quicker recovery period.
It's generally NOT recommended for:
Pregnant women.
Those with certain medical conditions (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes, heart disease, seizure disorders) or who take specific medications that might increase risks.
People with very loose skin or poor skin elasticity in the target area.
Why Is It Important? (Benefits of Laser Lipo)
Laser Lipo is an important advancement in body contouring for several reasons:
Minimally Invasive: It typically involves smaller incisions (or sometimes no incisions for non-invasive types) than traditional liposuction, leading to less scarring and reduced trauma to the body.
Targeted Fat Reduction: It allows for precise targeting of stubborn fat deposits that are often resistant to diet and exercise, helping to sculpt and contour specific areas of the body.
Skin Tightening: A significant advantage is the laser’s ability to stimulate collagen production, which can lead to firmer, tighter skin in the treated area. This helps to avoid the sagging skin that can sometimes occur after traditional liposuction.
Reduced Downtime & Faster Recovery: Compared to traditional liposuction, recovery from Laser Lipo is generally quicker, with many patients returning to normal activities within a few days.
Less Discomfort: Often performed under local anesthesia, it can mean less discomfort during and after the procedure compared to procedures requiring general anesthesia.
Improved Safety Profile: When performed by a qualified practitioner, Laser Lipo generally has a lower risk of complications compared to more invasive surgical procedures.
Effective Results: Patients can achieve noticeable and long-lasting improvements in their body shape and contour.
Increased Confidence: By addressing areas of concern, Laser Lipo can help individuals feel more confident and comfortable in their appearance.
